Technical Capability Leader (TCL)
The Technical Capability Leader at GP Monticello will partner with the leadership team to advance the capability of all employees. This individual will be responsible for implementing and executing a capability development process which yields positive performance results in safety, quality and production. This TCL will be a member of the Employee Skills Improvement (ESI) team interacting with Skills Developers and Subject Matter Experts to develop curriculum and facilitate performance development.


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:






  • Lead and foster a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership, through a principle based approach

  • Lead and mentor employees to apply MBM in ways that are consistent with our Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance

  • Assure all team members have a development plan, and is part of succession planning

  • Assure certification process leads to success within the product stream

  • Provide resources to help the team members develop their careers

  • Create an environment that promotes transferring knowledge to team members

  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Optimizers to assure operator performance gaps are identified and addressed

  • Lead and develop the Supervisors by helping them implement training in a consistent manner across teams

  • Hold team and individuals accountable for following operating strategies

  • Help transfer knowledge to team members and enable them to succeed

  • Proactively stay current in best practices and be a continuous learner

  • Work in a team-based environment and willingness to put the team first

  • Constructively challenge the status quo to facilitate continuous improvement

  • Embody a sense of urgency and initiative to independently deliver expected results

  • Lead training sessions and presentations for employees and leadership



What You Will Need:



Basic Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2 or more years of training experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.

  • Demonstrated work experience with collaborative teams (across departments, gather and share feedback, constructively challenge others)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience tracking training efforts and training curriculum development.



What Will Put You Ahead?



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree or higher in Adult Learning, Engineering, Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field

  • Experience with application of adult learning principles

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Experience working with SharePoint and Learning Management Systems (Convergence)

  • Previous experience in Pulp & Paper Industry
