Job Description:

POSITION REPORTS TO: VP - IT Infrastructure

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for implementing, administering, monitoring and troubleshooting systems and datacenter infrastructure. Ability to demonstrate expertise in datacenter architecture, infrastructure performance optimization, security best practices and continuous maintenance practices for critical systems. Ability to work closely with other team members, software & hardware vendors and end-users to collaboratively design technical solutions that meet the business needs. Serve as a lead technical resource regarding the implementation and optimization of complex server based configurations by providing expertise in various infrastructure platforms that include: SAN\storage management, virtualization architecture, disaster recovery systems architecture, patch management and backup and recovery,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:

1. Customer Service
Take the necessary steps to ensure our customers' needs are met to the maximum extent possible in an accurate and timely manner. Work with teammates to provide on-going support, including the development of technical documentation. Document solutions and processes for problem resolution in a call-tracking application. Assist and provide expertise in diagnosing system issues as requested. Provide support and training as needed for team members as requested. Actively participates or leads assigned team projects fulfilling task assignments, meeting deadlines, and proactively seeking attainment of team goals.
2. Systems Engineering
Responsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance and administration of all server and storage related devices and software. Provide technical solutions that meet the businesses needs with server-based technology. Ability to design, implement and manage various datacenter technologies including but not limited to; current Windows server solutions, enterprise Storage Area Networks, fiber switching, NAS, VMWare, Active Directory and Lync. Provide assistance to critical production issues and provide hands-on support when work volume dictates.
Level 22: Responsible for datacenter, servers, users and security requests that includes basic moves, adds and changes related to users accounts, virtual or physical servers needs.
Level 24: In addition to “Level 22”, responsible for complex datacenter designs, configurations and installations including but not limited to physical and virtual server infrastructure, configuring SAN storage requests, virtual server infrastructure, fiber-switching changes, Active Directory, backup environments and disaster recover processes.
3. File Transfer Automation
Responsible for the designing, managing and updating the secure file transfer automation solution. Coordinate automation efforts with internal and external relationship. Ability to work effectively with various transfer protocols such as FTP, sFTP, FTP with SSL, HTTP, HTTPS and PGP. Assist in troubleshooting automation errors with internal applications and external partners. Recommend and apply upgrades and patches for the file automation software. Serve as a technical resource and provide technical support and guidance to business teams and application business owners.
Level 22: Ability to perform move adds changes as it relates to secure file automation jobs.
Level 24: In addition to above, responsible for building file transfer automation rules using various transfer protocols and current scripting languages.
4. Backups and Disaster Recovery
Responsible for the design, configuration, installation, maintenance, administration of the organization’s backup, disaster recovery systems, and processes. Recommend and apply upgrades and patches for the associated software and hardware. Serve as a resource creating, managing and executing various scheduled disaster recovery tests.
Level 22: Responsible for restore requests and disaster recovery testing.
Level 24: In addition to “Level 22”, responsible for designing, implementing, updating and managing the organizations backup recovery systems.

5. Patch management
Responsible for the design, configuration, installation, maintenance and administration of the organization’s security patching systems and processes. Recommend and apply upgrades and regularly apply patches for the associated software and hardware
6. Security
Responsible for implementing security configurations changes that make the organization more secure. Ability to demonstrate proficient skills with group policy management, PowerShell scripting automation and server best practice configurations.
7. System Trends
Responsible for evaluating current system-related hardware and software products and make recommendations relative to their usage within the organization. Monitor advances in hardware and software technology and make organizational efficiency recommendations with this technology. Work with others in the procurement process of hardware and software. Ensure that technical proficiencies are current and attend vendor/industry-related training events to keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Level 22 - Ideal candidate will have at least an associate’s degree in the related area with 1-3 years of experience directly supporting end users in a MS Windows server environment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating team building attitude and skills. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Windows server or VMWare experience preferred.

Level 24 - Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related area or 3+ years of related experience with current technical certifications such as MCP, VCP or MCSA. Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of various datacenter technologies including but not limited to; current Windows server operating systems, clustering technologies, physical and virtual server infrastructure, enterprise SAN environment and disaster recovery solutions. Ability to automate complex tasks through developing customized PowerShell or VB scripts. Proven ability to serve as a project lead and facilitate open-ended technical discussions. Ability to architect high availability cluster technologies such as virtualization clusters. Serve as a technical resource to resolve difficult system troubleshooting requests. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Operate a computer and related peripheral equipment proficiently and performs repetitive motions on computer for extended periods.
• Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work related activities.
• Ability to complete work in an acceptable period and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
• Understand and use computer technology related to carrying out essential responsibilities of the job. This includes reading the screen and keying/typing information.
• Ability to operate telephone and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
• Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending.
• Ability to travel by auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
• Ability to lift or move equipment up to 75 lbs. from one location to another.
