Sr Finance Manager PVG
Manager of the Americas valuations team within GBAM Finance: Responsible for the development, supervision and oversight of valuation control processes for all products within the Global Markets Line of Business. Coverage will include XVA, Rates, Credit, Equity and Commodity products. Candidate will cover valuation control methodology including reserves / valuation adjustments, model governance compliance, fair value hierarchy, counterparty valuation control and reporting.
The role is methodology and governance focused and Includes the development of policies, procedures and control processes. Candidate will manage a team of quantitative focused valuation staff.
Strong communication skills are required as well as technical capacity. Interaction with senior Finance, Risk and Trading management as well a regulator focus. Candidate should be able to clearly communicate issues, process and results to senior management, business management, control partners, regulators and internal and external auditors. Must be able to develop and manage an independent, but constructive, relationship with senior level business management. Senior Product Valuation Controllers possess industry leading technical knowledge of financial markets and products within multiple markets sector that should be complemented with deep quantitative expertise necessary to critically evaluate the results of control procedures applied.
+ Oversee regional Product Methodology approaches and implementation, and ensure consistency across products and regions.
+ Provide SOX and Audit feedback on valuation component(s) when requested by Finance partners
+ Drive cross training of staff within GVG across product lines.
+ Drive training of Finance team and other staff on products and market practices.
+ Opine on revenue recognition and the valuation control aspects of complex transactions as required
Responsible for the development, supervision and oversight of valuation control processes for all products within a Global Markets Line of Business. Includes the development of policies, procedures and control processes and delegating/managing a team of valuation control professionals as appropriate. Broad focus across all valuation control processes which include IPV, valuation adjustments, fair value hierarchy classification, counterparty valuation control and valuation reporting. Able to clearly communicate results of procedures applied to senior management, business management, control partners, regulators and internal and external auditors. Must be able to develop and manage an independent, but constructive, relationship with senior level business management. Senior Product Valuation Controllers possess industry leading technical knowledge of financial markets and products within a given market sector that should be complemented with deep quantitative expertise necessary to critically evaluate the results of control procedures applied.
+ Previous large, complex financial services organization experiences performing Valuation control / Risk Management / Model Development technical product experience
+ Proven management skills with a track record of managing and developing quantitative resources
+ Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner
+ Prior management experiences working key internal and external key stakeholders
+ Minimum of a Bachelors degree, Master degree is highly preferred
+ Experience across multiple products is preferred, but deep technical expertise is a reduced product set is acceptable if the candidate is expandable.
+ Experience of regulatory and senior management interaction
