The Public Works Inspector performs a variety of sub-professional engineering tasks involving both office and field assignments. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of principles, practices and terminology of a variety of technical engineering support work, including field inspection, public works construction methods and materials, data collection and analysis. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with contractors and other agencies is a must, as is experience with enforcing encroachment permits specifically related to the road right-of-way.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of public works field experience in road maintenance, construction or sub-professional engineering experience. One year of college-level education or training in surveying, drafting, civil engineering or other related subjects may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. A course in computer aided design (CAD) programs such as AutoCad or related programs is desirable.

At the time of the selection interview, applicants will have to furnish a recent DMV driving record.

Certification: Possession of a Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector certificate from the American Public Works Association (APWA) is desirable.

Filing Deadline: Friday, May 5, 2017 at 4:00PM. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of County application and supplemental application form. Apply online at: or contact Marin County HR Dept, Rm 415, 3501 Civic Center Dr., San Rafael, CA 94903 or call (415) 473-6104. EEO/TTY
